We are delighted that A&G was recognised at the 2018 Kingston Business Awards, winning Best New Start Up.

Business Travel agent beat off strong competition from 9 other short-listed companies to the award, which celebrates new businesses across a broad spectrum of products and services.

 

It marks a tremendous finish to a successful first year. A&G was set up in October 2017, after Managing Director Stephen Ashcroft took a leap into the unknown by going it alone, having spent the previous 20 years working for a major global travel organisation. He said of the award “I have won many over the years but this eclipses all of them. I am so proud of everyone involved; we have an amazing team and fantastic product. We are going from strength to strength through hard work, fantastic people, amazing support and a great work ethic.”

 

Judges praised our unique approach to corporate travel, including focusing not solely on clients’ business travel but also their personal trips. 

 

David Lister, who looks after the leisure side, explains why it works “Why should our clients only be able to take advantage of our discounted airfares and hotel rates when travelling for business? That didn’t seem fair to us, so at A&G we’re happy to look after our corporate clients’ leisure travel. Having us as a one-stop shop makes perfect sense; they know us and we know them, which makes it easier.”

 

Another cornerstone of our success is our personal approach, as account manager Will Beck explains “Because our clients are not tied into any contracts we really have to deliver on our promise of great customer service. If we treat them as ‘just another customer’ we’re doing nothing different to a regular TMC.”
